Who do you work with?
“I work with people from all kinds of backgrounds. I love working with women and helping them to feel empowered, confident and strong in their bodies. Additionally, as someone who has been in recovery from an eating disorder for some time, I enjoy working with people struggling with or in recovery from an eating disorder and helping them to find a deeper connection to their bodies.”
What do you do for them?
“I offer a variety of wellness services to support my clients. I teach public yoga and fitness classes. I offer private vinyasa and prenatal yoga services and am also a Reiki energy healer. Finally, I am birth doula who supports any style of birth. My holistic approach allows my clients to select the service(s) that they want for a customized approach to wellness.”
Why do you do what you do, particularly as it relates to surrogacy/growing families?
“Women are magical. Our bodies do so many amazing things, including growing and delivering a new life. I feel that my calling is to support the women to take this path. Whether it is strengthening them with a barre class, opening their chakras through Reiki or yoga or supporting them as a doula, my passion is helping women to feel capable and empowered.”
What is your favorite part of your job?
“I love the people I work with. I learn so much from every client and love seeing them learn and grow as a result of our work together.”
What is your favorite memory or story from working at your job?
“I have a student who had been struggling with thyroid issues. She started coming to my fitness classes because her doctor wanted her to try that before medication. We kept an open line of communication while she was being tested, and I certainly noticed her getting stronger. A few months after we met, she reported that her thyroid was back to normal and no medication was needed. I am so impressed by her energy and commitment to improving her health and her positive attitude through it all. I still see her nearly every week.”
